Access Control
This is an important part of the security of the building which works to admit only people with the correct access-rights to restricted parts of the building, if at all.
This can be done with either a PC-based network or a standalone product.
A PC based system
Allows numerous doors to be connected and controlled by one manager for the site via a network. This means that commands made at the PC are sent to each of the doors. Another benefit of this type of system is flexible control, allowing you to grant different permissions for individuals or groups of users.
"PC based systems are ideal for medium to large sites as they make large numbers of doors and users easy to manage. The system can be extended very easily, and advanced features such as reports and integration with CCTV and other systems make such a system much more than just a replacement for a bunch of keys."
A standalone system
This type of system can control access to one or many independent doors in a building. Access is gained by using a PIN CODE with a keypad, or by presenting a proximity token or magstripe card, depending on which type of reader is fitted.
"Standalone systems are great for smaller sites with a relatively small number of users, token management is simple, and the system can be extended easily as your requirements change."
